Hello! I’m Ángel Rafael - a Lancaster-based documentary filmmaker and photographer focused on community, culture, and authenticity.

My work centers4 on people. I’m drawn to the stories that often go unheard - artists, educators, neighborhoods, families, and the everyday moments that shape who we are. Whether I’m filming in Lancaster, Puerto Rico, Ghana, or across Europe, my goal remains the same: to document honestly and with care.

Before I picked up a camera professionally, I was a teacher. That experience shaped how I work. I listen first. I build trust. I create environments where people feel safe being themselves. The results reveal something real.

I believe storytelling is civic work. When done well, it builds connection, strengthens identity, and reminds communities of their power.
